A woman, a mother, a Ray Ban Legend.

Two words: Angelina Jolie. Beauty, success, fame, and strength are just some of the characteristics to describe her being a "legend". Being a legend, she has not only through her experiences and time but because of her influence in people's lives.
Beauty: She has been a woman of style, being able to pull different looks from being Gia to Lara Croft and portraying different roles in her movies and in real life (as a mother, a wife, an Ambassadress, a pilot, even pulling off different Ray Ban aviators ;)), you name it, she has probably done it. She has been known not only because of being one of the most beautiful women and having the most luscious and coveted natural lips in the world. She has also been named as the sexiest woman alive and is often cited as the world's "most beautiful" woman, a title for which she has received substantial media attention. If that is not enough, "Jolie" is pretty in the French language (again, one of the most romantic and beautiful languages. Coincidence? I say destiny.

Success: She surpassed the barriers of being a woman and within her craft, she has been the most successful female action star in her generation. Winning 30 Oscars and 61 nominations proves her capability and skill in her field. Not only has she invaded the movies but also print media with 185 magazine covers and a Billion net worth. She is successful in her career, financially, her family and in helping others.

Heart of gold: Despite her beauty, success and fame, she has never forgotten to give back and share her blessings by devoting one third of her income to international charity projects, especially those involving refugees. She has decided to donate the profits from her first born Shiloh's pictures amounting to $4,100,000 to charity. She has been a humanitarian and an Ambassadress for the UN, volunteering in various organizations and charities all around the globe.

A strong woman: Despite her rough and strong personality, she is never afraid nor ashamed to show her emotions. Crying in a touching scene of Dumbo being able to fly, defending har brother in the rumor of their love affair, owning several reptiles, collects knives and owns a Private Pilot license. Albiet receiving cuts and burns in one of her movies Lara Croft: tomb raider and being brought to the hospital, she has insisted on continuing her shoot the following day.

A Mother: She has adopted two children Maddox and Pax of different descent long before she was married. Thereafter giving birth to Shiloh and then adopting a Vietnamese child named Pax. In the year 2008, she has given birth to fraternal twins Knox and Vivene, earning $14 Million for the joint pictures of both children, proceeds went to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

Better-than-perfect: Like any other celebrity she has been through her ups and downs, being a wild child, under the influence of drugs and undergoing psychiatric confinement. She has had two unsuccessful marriages and has had tattoos (of her ex-husband's name and of "death") being inked out. In spite of this, she has been able to successfully turn her life around from being a bizarre  celebrity to a humanitarian and a devoted and loving mother.

I must say, she is the epitome of a Legend. Not only has she lived a fulfilling and successful life but she has inspired a lot of people, of different races and generations, around the world. She has proven that one has the capability to change no matter how deep a person has sunk to. It is not important what mistakes one has done in the past as long as the person regrets those and has done something to right that wrong. She may have been able to help due to her money but she has been active in organizations and showed that no matter how big of a celebrity she is, she still remembers to help, give back and share what she has, being a role model, especially to the younger generations. She will surely be remembered in the decades to come as a legendary woman who has changed the world in her own way.

I can be a legend by helping others in my own way. I have started doing this by volunteering for the Philippine Red Cross, a non-profitable and non-government funded private organization. I can continue to inspire and help others by practicing my profession as a Nurse. No matter how cliche it is, being able to help others, especially in their lowest points in life, is a rewarding experience. A simple thank you after catering to their needs and supporting them through their journey from sickness to their full health, is a priceless thing. Being able to share my knowledge to the patients in the hospital, reiterating important pointers beneficial to their health and simply helping them in their activities of daily living are simple steps to being a Legend. In the future, I hope to become a mother who will inspire her children, be able to share great stories, positive impact and changes I have done in other people's lives. I dream to build a foundation cherishing our elders and nurturing the future generation of children. I may not be an Angelina Jolie but in my own way, and despite of the constraints of being a woman, I believe that with these few steps, I, in the future, can say that I am "A woman, A mother, A Ray Ban Legend".
